Mercedes GT XX Is a 1360 bhp EV with Supercar DNA
A Nod to the Past, A Leap into the Future

To begin with, if you remember the iconic Mercedes-Benz C111 prototypes from the 60s and 70s — especially in their eye-catching orange — this new concept might look familiar. If not, the Vision One-Eleven concept from 2023 surely rings a bell. Now, Mercedes-AMG brings the GT XX Concept, a car that blends nostalgia with bold, electric performance.
Without a doubt, the GT XX looks like a near-production version of those legendary show cars — especially in that trademark orange shade. Let’s dive deeper.
Design: Future-Ready, But with Classic AMG Muscle

At first glance, the GT XX grabs your attention with its powerful stance and low-slung, four-door Gran Tourer silhouette. While it’s clearly modern, design cues remind you of AMG’s racing heritage.
Up Front:

- Panamericana grille with an illuminated surround
- Large air scoops on the bonnet for enhanced cooling
- Raked windscreen and aggressive LED headlamps
- A sporty gloss-black front splitter
From the Side:

- Massive 21-inch aerodynamic wheels
- Bold AMG plaques on the fenders
- Flush door handles and frameless doors
- Wide rear haunches for that planted look
- Tapered roofline and tinted rear privacy glass
At the Rear:

- Six cylindrical 3D LED tail-lights
- A full-width MBUX Fluid Light Panel with up to 700 programmable animations
- No visible rear windshield (production version may get one)
In essence, every design element is purposeful and aerodynamic, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.198 Cd — among the lowest in its class.
Interior: Track Car Meets Digital Lounge

Once inside, the GT XX Concept delivers a cabin that feels straight out of a Formula 1 car. However, it still manages to retain luxury and digital flair.
Highlights:

- Vibrant orange illuminated piping, mimicking high-voltage wiring
- Flat-top AMG steering yoke with regen paddle shifters
- 10.2-inch driver display and 14-inch central infotainment screen
- Slim, floating center console with toggle switches
- Deeply bolstered carbon fibre racing seats
- Eco-friendly use of recycled and sustainable materials
Moreover, even the door handles are replaced by electronic opening flaps, further enhancing the futuristic feel.
Powertrain & Performance: Raw Speed, Refined Tech

More than just a design exercise, the GT XX showcases Mercedes-AMG’s new AMG.EA high-voltage electric platform — built for performance, not compromise.
Under the Hood (Figuratively):
- Battery Pack: 114 kWh, NMC (Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt) chemistry
- Charging: 800V architecture with up to 850 kW DC fast charging
- Just 5 minutes of charging can provide 400 km of range
- Motors: Three axial flux motors (1 front, 2 rear)
- Output: A staggering 1,360 bhp
- Top Speed: Up to 360 km/h

Interestingly, the axial flux motor tech — previously seen in Ferrari’s SF90 and Lamborghini’s Temerario hybrids — is not only compact but also more power-dense than traditional motors. If it enters production as planned, the AMG GT XX will be the first fully electric vehicle to launch with this setup.
What’s Coming Next?

Mercedes-AMG has already confirmed that the GT XX Concept will transition into a production model. In addition, a performance-oriented SUV based on the same platform is also in the works, likely hitting the market around 2026.
This marks a significant milestone — the first electric-only supercar from AMG, and perhaps the beginning of a new performance era.
Our Thoughts

To sum it up, the Mercedes-AMG GT XX Concept is not just another EV concept. It’s a bold statement that performance, design, and innovation can thrive together in the electric age. With its hypercar-level specs, Formula 1-derived battery cooling, and cutting-edge motor tech, it promises to redefine what an AMG can be — even without a roaring V8.
So, whether you’re an AMG purist or an EV enthusiast, the GT XX makes one thing very clear: the future of performance is electric, and it’s arriving fast.
