Starting August 15, 2025, Indian highway travel is about to get a whole lot smoother—and cheaper. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, under Nitin Gadkari’s leadership, has officially introduced a new FASTag-based annual pass for private vehicle owners. Priced at ₹3,000, this all-India highway pass covers up to 200 toll trips or 1 year—whichever comes first.
What Is the FASTag Annual Pass?
Until now, only select corridors allowed monthly toll passes—and only for one toll plaza. But this new system changes the game. With a one-time payment of ₹3,000, users can enjoy seamless toll access across all national highways in India, at any FASTag-enabled toll plaza.
And the math? It’s quite compelling.
200 trips ÷ ₹3,000 = ₹15 per toll trip—a huge drop compared to the usual ₹70–₹200 charged individually at many tolls.
How to Activate the Annual Pass
Getting started is easy. Beginning August 15, you can activate or renew the annual pass via:
- The official NHAI or MoRTH websites
- The Rajmarg Yatra mobile app
A dedicated link will be published on these platforms closer to launch day.
Importantly, the pass will be tied to your existing FASTag account, so there’s no need for a new device or registration.
