Hyundai India Plans 26 New Cars by 2030 — EVs, Hybrids & More
Hyundai is ready to fire on all cylinders — petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric. With its long-held No. 2 position in the Indian car market now overtaken by Tata and Mahindra, Hyundai has announced an aggressive plan to launch 26 new models by 2030, marking its most ambitious expansion ever in India.

Hyundai, once second only to Maruti Suzuki, has slipped in monthly sales rankings — falling behind Tata Motors and Mahindra in recent months. The reason? Rivals brought in aggressive SUVs and EVs, while Hyundai’s lineup saw fewer big updates.

Now, the Korean carmaker is responding with a decade-defining offensive across:
- Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) cars
- Ground-up Electric Vehicles (EVs)
- All-new Hybrid offerings
- Facelifts and generation upgrades
The target: 26 new products by 2030, including 7–8 brand-new models across completely new segments.

What’s Powering the Change?
Hyundai isn’t just launching new products — it’s transforming how it builds them:
- New 1.2L turbo-petrol engine in development for future hybrids
- Over ₹10,000 crore invested in new models and powertrain R&D
- ₹8,000 crore more going into manufacturing & localization
- New plant in Talegaon and a 450-acre R&D centre in Telangana
EV Strategy: Slow Start, Strong Finish

While the Creta EV didn’t perform as expected (under 700 units/month), Hyundai has learned from the market response. Future EVs will:
- Be built on new EV-first platforms (not ICE conversions)
- Use cost-optimized 400V architecture
- Target the ₹20–30 lakh EV SUV segment after 2027
The Palisade Hybrid SUV will be Hyundai’s first hybrid in India. Over time, hybrid powertrains will move down the price ladder — thanks to the upcoming 1.2L turbo-petrol engine, which will serve as a base for future hybrid models in smaller cars and SUVs.
Hyundai India has taken a hard look at its position and is now reloading with purpose. From budget hatchbacks to flagship hybrids, the brand is betting big on product diversity, EVs built for India, and faster innovation cycles.
With 26 new models on the way and localized investments at scale, Hyundai isn’t just making a comeback — it’s planning to redefine its future in India.
